To manage and maintain the Fishing Harbour for all-weather use of fishing vessels and post-harvest activities by stakeholders.
To provide convenient landing facilities to fishing crafts.
To facilitate berthing, landing of catches, auctioning, bunking, repairing, etc.
To provide hygienic conditions for processing and handling of fish to meet international standards.
To maintain hygiene as per international standards in handling marine catches.
To create awareness among stakeholders to maintain cleanliness and personal hygiene while handling fish.
To train stakeholders in fish preservation on deck during transportation and packing to fetch better prices.
To collect user fees from harbour activities for operation and maintenance.
To manage the fishing harbour with available infrastructure and provide facilities to users.

Fish quality maintained to international standards through proper handling, processing, packing, and icing.
Two jetties of 200 meters length each, providing better landing and stacking facilities for vessels.
Repair track and dry docking facilities for up to 24 trawlers at a time.
Round-the-clock supply of fresh water to trawlers and harbour users.
Diesel outlet on the jetty for fuel supply.
12 ice plants in the vicinity of Dhamara ensuring continuous supply of quality ice.
Storage facilities available for trawler owners.
Net mending yard for quick repair of fishing nets.
Rest house facilities available on rent for vessel crews.
Market complex constructed to facilitate business requirements of jetty users.
Pre-processing plant nearing completion to support Exporters’ Owner Association.
Facilities for storage, sorting, grading, and icing provided for entrepreneurs and exporters.
Proposed facilities such as chitin plant and cold storage are in the pipeline for construction.
